Need some PCV system help on a m20b25

I threw a cold air intake on the car, removed the ICV and plugged it since it didn't work right anyway, then cranked up the idle screw, keep in mind before i had just unplugged the ICV, but air was still flowing through it.

Anyway, with unhooking this, i unhooked the PCV system not knowing it was part of the intake and made a huge vacuum leak, drove the car around with the engine cutting out around 5.5k, kept driving it around until suddenly it took off like a bad out of hell, but then low RPMs are studdered and wouldn't idle, limped it back home and got a CEL, checked out everything and noticed the PCV system was unhooked from the manifold. Plugged it back in, started the car, ran fine, plugged my finger over the place that origionally went to the intake tube and it pulled a decent amount of vacuum.

Anyway, there's no emissions testing or inspections here and would like to just do something with this hole to make the car run fine again, is it as simple as tracing the system back to the valve cover breather and crank case breather and leaving them open with some type of filter over them, or is it more complicated? Appreciate any insight and maybe a diagram of the PCV system.

I unhooked the line and plugged the intake side, left the other side open, i think plugging the ICV and PCV made my car slower, i need to hook it back up. :P
