    Seat recliner lifters ??

    Hey,
I'm looking at purchasing a 1989 325iS. The "lifter" on the passenger seat which is used to raise the seat up so people can hop into the back seats doesn't work. Like, there are 2 "lifters" on the seat, and the inside one works, but the "lifter" next to the door doesnt work. I hope you guys understand what i'm trying to say, I'm a complete noob to this whole e30 lover website. So yea, is it a possible easy fix?? if so, can someone explain how you fix it??
    cheers,
    Jono.

Try taking the seat apart and check out whats wrong in there. Should be fixable, anything is.

There is a removable part made from pressed cardboard on the back of the seat, it comes out after removing 2 screws on the bottom.

Don't remove upholstery, it is quite hard to get it back the right way.

Try lots of wd40 (it worked for me). My front seats did not recline or adjust, just remove the plastics take them out, and brush and lube the shit out of them, if you don't see anything hanging they'll work.
