Another sunroof question

OK, here's the story, my sunroof works, it's a manual, every time I open it, a black flap pops up up front, but when I close it i have to push it down by hand to close the roof, I guess this is not right, or is it ????

Remember this is my first E30, they are rather scarce here, so I have no one to ask, and I've had it for less than three months.

that little flap should close automatically when the sunroof closes....check the connecting rod that goes to it and see if it has any play.
i dunno what to do if it does, maybe just replace it.

Thanks, the little rod is not there, another thing to add to the partlist.
It looks like it hooks up to a slot on the flap at the passenger side.
