instrument panel night lights....

Yesterday I finally got around to soldering some new batteries onto the SI board, and now my tach and temp gauges work. Yay! But of course problems get discovered. The red lights no longer come on when I'm driving with my headlights on. I looked in the service manual but it doesn't seem to mention anything about these lights. Anybody experienced this before or have any pointers for what I should try and do?

I forgot to mention that all my fuses are good and all the lights on the dash come on, it appears to be just the instrument cluster night lights. What voltage would I apply to them to test if they're still good?
