Would like to resurrect this thread with this question.
On boring out the secondary throttle on an M42, does it require dismantling of the butterfly and machine 3mm all the way. and replace the butterfly with a bigger one to fill up the bigger bore? or just bore up to the butterfly flap???

Uhhhh... what?
You have to install a larger butterfly if you bore out the throttle body, because the hole will be bigger and air will get around the smaller butterfly.
