    fuse box caught fire

Well,This afternoon my 2 year old son decided to put pennies in the cigarette lighter plug, and instead of the fuse blowing, the wires under the front ashtray and the fuse box caught fire.I quickly reached for the water hose and soaked everything with water, then disconnected the battery. The fuse box and wires going in and out are toast.Does anyone know if the fusebox and harness from an auto 89 325ic will work for the 5speed 87 325is?Thanks....:firehop:

e30s are like fat girls that USED to be hot, you just gotta work them out to make them hot again.

My fuse box melted last year... fortunatelly for me, it didn't burn up, just melted a hole 1/2 inch wide destroying only one circuit. I was running the blower fan at full blast. Turned out the blower motor had carbon built-up inside causing a large current draw.

To this day those @#$@#$!@#$ stupid german engineers can't do electric systems... If it says 30A on the fuse, why the heck does it melt or burn when running 29.9A.

Oh I thought of doing the same thing.. replacing the fuse box, but after looking inside and seeing how complex it is, I changed my mind and rebuilt the damaged circuit externally.. new relay, new fuse..
