automatic door lock on 88 IS

has anyone ever had any problems with the automatic door lock feature on an 88 IS? (if it even is a feature) whenever i try and unlock it from the inside or outside it just wants to keep unlocking and locking. any information would be much appreciated, thanks.

Pull the front driver's side speaker cover and check out the auto door lock controller. When you pull the speaker it will be underneath it in the bottom of the little hole.
