    Idle hesitation

I just bought an 87 325is and I adjusted the valves myself but the car seems to have developed a hesitation right off of idle especially when cold. If the throttle is pressed gently there will be no hesitation or drop in revs but otherwise it will hesitate and revs drop a bit before they revs climb back up. Ive searched some posts and found some suggestions that it could be the icv or the afm but i checked both and the valve in the icv spun and the flap in the afm moved. Did I adjust the valves wrong or could it be another problem? Thanks.

I'd suspect the AFM or an intake leak. I'm not sure what would happen if the TPS's idle switch is late in turning off, but that might be a factor. When the idle stop and TPS is correctly adjusted, the ICV is switched off as soon as there's 0.020-0.040" of clearance between the idle stop and the throttle arm.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
