    advice needed, kind of OT

this is for my 02. i designed some rear brake adapters so i can run discs on the back. im not too worried about strength because i used 3/4" hardwood exterior grade plywood so i know its strong enough. my question is, should i use a marine varnish or polyurethane on these to protect them from the elements??
im thinking 2 coats or marine varnish should do it as this car wont see a lot of bad weather. anyone with experience in polyurethane have any advice??

I can't imagine wood being anywhere in the brake system being a good idea.

        srsly.

Take that wood to a cnc place and get some metal ones made up.

LMFAO!!!!!! I didn't think you were serious at first...

That looks like it will make a great template, but for the love of GOD, do NOT use that hold any part of your brake system on the car!! Make one out of metal, or find a place that will do it for you. It won't cost all that much since you already have a "jig".

naw, i just saw the picture and it reminded me of the dude who made seat rails for his vaders out of 2x4's.
its just someone mocking up discs to machine the adapters
