    what kinda of gasket sealant

    we are pulling my head tomorrow night, i am sure we won't be ready to put it back in again tomorrow but i need to know what type of gasket sealant i need to use and where i can get it.

    be specific

    we are not mind readers

    but as a general rule, none. not on e30 top ends anyways.

      i think you can get some that copper gasket spray and lightly spray the headgasket

          well the dude that is helping me just told me to find out....we are installing a new head gasket then putting the head back on assuming nothing else is wrong with it. So any kind of gasket sealant i need if any.

            personally, i've never used any gasket sealent on head gaskets, and i wouldn't recommend it personally. just use the headgasket how it came.

              The head gasket has is own sealant built in, should be some red gummy lines on there.

                this is true, but it never hurts to use some of the copper gasket spray. it also holds the fucker in place(there is always a few mms of play within the plugs). I ahve used it and it is worth the 2.50 if you ask me.
