    Need Help Please-instrument cluster

This evening on my drive home, I noticed the fuel, tach, temp guages, and the a/c fan motor stopped working. Were working when I started the car, but then stopped. They will work when I initially start the vehicle, but then stop 15 seconds later. The speedometer and odometer are still working, but nothing else.
Please any ideas on what can cause these symptoms? Car is a 1987 325is, if it makes a difference.Thanks.

Found the trouble. Two 7.5a fuses were blown. Replaced them, and everything works again. I'll keep an eye on them, and if they go again, I guess I have some wiring to chase down.

would broken fuses make just your speedo and odometer stop working?

I had a speedo go because of a bad fuse. Not sure about the other.

No, but the speed sensor in the diff would.

              Will

The rechargeable batteries in the cluster go bad. This is a normal maintenance item. You need to replace the circuit board in the cluster, where the batteries are located (approx. $140). You can buy batteries at Radio Shack and solder them in. You can install a remote battery holder for easy replacement. There should be a write up for both methods. They also make a solid state replacement. I have bad luck with them.
