Most of the colour are the same m42->m20, but don't know about pin locations.

it I have all the ETMs from the early 80's up to the 1 series:nice: but it only goes as far back as the e24 chassis. Try the e21 tricord forum, as there are a few pages out there covering the m42 swap into the old e21

Splice the orginal harness and tell me the colours of wires and I'll translate :) pretty much colour to colour.
