    take apart side view mirror?

Anyone ever dissassembel a side view mirror? I know there must be a nasty spring in there, so I'm a little hesitant to do it.

    Anyone attempt this, advice?

(Thinking of adding some LEDs in there triggered by the keyless entry)

You can take out the glass by tilting it up and there is a lock ring you just have to push off to the side with a small screw driver. I replaced my glass on one of my mirrors when it accidentally got broken.
