valve cover to tb breather hose question

What is the function of this breather hose ? I've seen guys install a small filter on the valve cover side and I assume the other side that goes to the throttle body is blocked off ?

Mine is cracked and I have a new one to install but can't get the tb side off and was wondering what the function of this hose was...

Yea thats PCV. basically just think about the definition and youve got it.

If yours has a crack in it im guessing youre idleing like shit? And yes you can run a filter, but yes you do need a block off plate on the other end.

Thank you, I just replaced the old hose and it was packed with carbon deposits :o The intake boot wasn't cracked or anything. I should read and see if I can get the tb out w/o removing the whole intake manifold in order to clean it a little.

Im having the same problem as you! My air boot and afm had oil inside of it, i replaced the air boot because it had a giant hole in it, i thought oil somehow sprayed in there or something. Now im changing out the injector O rings because of a gas smell, my PCV hose is dryrotted and stuck onto my valve cover, did replacing this fix your idle?

the TB is easy to get out just unhook all the hoses and the cable , the sensor and unbolt the 4 bolts

I replaced the intake boot, breather hose and long before replaced the small L shaped hose that connects the ICV and cleaned the AFM. My idle is still messed up, sometimes as high as 1400rpm. I'll try removing and cleaning the tb next.

Your injector o rings could be bad, it should be what it causing my problems. You should see if you have gas near your injectos or up on the fuel rail, i did, so im replacing them. I just got the parts from the dealer today, 12 injector o rings and the PCV hose. 25 bucks for the o rings and 10 for the hose. Will be alot more $ for u if you dont work at the dealer.
