    HELP: Stripped the rotor bolt in order to get it off...

    well, my friend and i are repairing his rotars and pads...

    got the pads off just fine, but then stripped the bolt...

    one question, is the bolt a normal thread, or a reverse thread?

    Drill out the head or use a BFH Big F#$%ing Hammer and knock off the rotor the head will shear.

      what he said, no big deal here, if you have a spare one layin around use it as a guide for the right size drill

          use a drill, the bolt is not necessary for reassembly.

            Yup drill the head off an put it back togeather.

              Only when the person that did the job last tightened the hell out of it or didn't put any brake lube on it. There was a guy I knew at a local dealer here that would install those with an impact wrench. He never did seem to realize that those are just for convinience during assembly and the wheel bolts are what really holds the rotor on...

              Just lightly snug them down and you'll never have a problem. If you live in a wet or salty area, put a little anti-seize on em.

                BFH, hit the rotor from the inside out, 180 degrees from the bolt.

                      anti seize is your friend! always put it on with installation! makes the next time much easier.
