    Rear deck retrofit

What is involved in retrofiting an e30 with the old style rear deck, with the later year ones (more low profile center brake light). I've noticed there is an inset where the light sets.

direct ....almost...IIRC, when I did it on my 88, the 3rd brake light mounted differently and the new one was not secured with screws in place. I used the parcel shelf to hold it in place and it never shifted in the entire period (over a year) after autox-s etc

I haven't really gotten back in there to really look at it, but mine currently rattles like hell over bumps. How is it fastened in? I'm wondering if it uses interior panel snaps and all of mine are broken or something.

Some really early cars have the rear seatbelts mounted differently, and the holes that they come thru in the deck will be wrong. Not sure if your 86 makes it under the bar though.

Yeah, I don't think that's an issue with my car. I remember that from when I installed my 4 point harnesses. Really early E30s used 3 point harnesses.
