How much oil must an E30 drink before it will trigger the oil light on the check panel? mine just came on today after about 3 months since me last oil change. and i want to know how much to put in because i will be changing the oil on thursday. will a quart do? or should i get two?

If the low oil level in the Check Panel is on I rather think you are more than 1qt low and may be as much as 3qt low. For the engine's sake, add enough oil to get the level between the marks on the dipstick.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

On the check panel is a reminder that you need oil, if the actual oil light is on you have dangerously low pressure, like 5-8psi if I recall correctly. That might only be M30 specific though, it's all I've got

Yeah, it is just the light on the check panel, not the one on my gauges.
happened once before. though i wanted to know how much it went down.
damn E30's kick ass. if only my buddies saturn had a check panel. he wouldnt of had to replace that engine.Comment
