    Short shifter..

I am in the process of swapping in a S50 with the M3 transmission, I was wondering if anyone that has done this if the short shifter that I have will work? I think it should I would just need to use the selector rod.. can anyone confirm this? I am trying to advoid having to buy another short shifter. Thanks

Most informative shift lever thread ever made, pass it around: http://www.r3vlimited.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5004

Oh and do it yourself. You can feel good about getting under your car and making it work. Everything you could ask is in that thread...

Yes. Once you get under there, and take a look at things, you'll begin learning TONS. Just getting under there and feeling around, I know totally understand what parts of the linkage are crucial when it comes to the "sloppy" feel and why they have such a large effect.

Installed just a short shift is as easy as changing your oil. ;)

I don't think that the thread clearly explained how to actually bend the selector lever(z4 3.0ssk), or maybe I just missed it?

Thanks for the info, I have a Bavauto ssk but it sucks, it's sloppy and long, I just ordered the parts for the z4 3.0 ssk, thanks again.

Make sure you bend the selector rod, not the selector lever (although I suppose you could do either one).

I already have the UUC shifter installed in my car, selector rod bent etc.. but I just didn't know if it would fit with the new 95 M3 transmission. But thanks for all the replies
