Adding cruise control to a 318is?

How hard is this? Im usually all for less luxury, more just pure driving pleasure, but I need my cruise control. I do alot of highway driving/ road trips and it just sucks without it. Is it a big pain in the ass or a relatively bolt up setup? Doesnt look like it would to expensive to source out used as well.

You're going to have to find a 318is that came with it from the factory and fit it to your car. The M20 one won't work. I've only ever seen one late model 318is that had it as a factory option though; good luck.

What is there to a cruse control unit other than power and the sending signal from the speedo? I could be wrong but it would seem to me that if you got the CC unit, the lever from the steering collumn and all of the wires that go along with it, it would still work on the same principles. From what I understand about the CC is that it gets its speed data right off of the instrument cluster.

there are after market CC setups you can get. My sisters cavalier didn't have CC, and she took it somewhere and they installed an after market unit. Worked okay I Guess...
