    Dynamat extreme?

Ever since I swapped the m30 (and subsequently had to remove the hood insulation for the intake manifold/throttle to clear), I've had a really loud engine, understandably.

What are the drawbacks to sticking dynamat extreme on the underside of the hood to keep engine noise down? Is it an effective solution? Will engine heat melt it?

    Dynamat makes a hoodliner material.

Check out Second Skin.. much better sound proofing material that outperforms Dynamat and I believe they make something specifically for use under your hood.

Most likely the other shit will fall off into your engine bay. Most cheaper mats fail around 180-200F degrees.

The Dynamat Extreme seems to do pretty good though.

but just remember, one 2"x2" square of dynamat is good for an entire door (i believe it is that size).
