OK maybe my arse is getting to large but........

and it has done it since I bought the car, butt every time I go around a corner to fast my gong goes off???
It is totally driving me crazy, because when I feel like going around curves "the right way" my stupid door gong keeps chiming in. After looking at some of you guyzes pictures of detailing your cars and taking out the seats to do this.............. I think I am going to do the same this week, and give my interior a good going over. When I do though, I would love to fix this annoyance. Any great ideas Oh Great E30ites??

The under dash panel on the drivers side there are two gongs.. I disconnected both of them.

Does it do it when you take a right turn? So when you are leaning against the driver's door? I am thinking two things:

1: There is a broken wire that when you take a turn, it connects and makes the noise somehow, or....

2: When you lean againts the door, it actually gets pushed out enough to make the car think that the door is open, and that is very dangerous to you.

I doubt that it could be the second one, but just a thought.

That wouldn't be possible. If you open the door and listen to the gong then slowly start closing the door to find out where the gong stops making noise you will see that the door is not even closed yet. As long as the door is close to being closed, the gong ahould not be going off.

I just disconnected the doorgong because it's pointless. If you need a gong to tell you that your door is wide open, you shouldn't be driving in the first place.

mine did this every time I got out of the seat. pretty annoying to have a car that dings when there is no one around. there is a plug, 2 wire I think for the seatbelt thing under the driver seat. I unplugged it and haven't had any problems since.

if a door gong dings when no one is around, does it make a noise? the answer is yes

yeap that is what mine does as well, it just does it more when I am driving like I do!
I kinda thought it might be the seat belt sensor? Butt I was not sure. I'll fix it when I take my seats out to detail the interior.
                      Thanks!
