Window squeaking, cant figure out what is causing it

318is with power windows. Driver side door window recently started squeaking only when going down, and it squeaks for about 1 or 2 seconds, 3/4ths of the way down.

I have the door panel off and have been liberally coating the mechanism with silicone spray. No difference in the squeak.

If I hold the top part of the window, and press against, or pull towards me, while rolling down, it doesnt squeak.

    Any ideas?

I have had the samething for the last year. I'd love to know how to fix it, lol. Squeaks for the first 2/3 and then the rest is quiet for mine.

Mine does that as well, and recently started slowing down in addition to the squeaks... Here is my solution:

      - Take a crappy CD that you no longer listen to or one that is far too scratched up.

      - Slide it in between the window and the rubber insulator or whatever that thing is.

      - Slide the CD left and right liberally from one end of the window, to the other, using short quick left to right movements.

      - Do that until the CD moves somewhat freely.

      - Repeat process on other side of window between window and rubber insulator thingy.

      Viola! Squeak-free, fast, windows!
