Hello, I am hoping that someone who's done this job before can answer a couple questions for me and maybe use this as a reference for others who might be doing this job in the future..
The rear hard brake line that runs from the front of the car to the back connects to the "T" section on cars with drums and with disc brakes. Hard lines connect to both ends of the "T" section near the rear sub-frame and a soft brake hose connects on each side to the trailing arm hard line. From the hard brake line on each trailing arm there is a short soft brake line that connects finally to the calipers.
If I am removing trailing arms with drums, and installing trailing arms with disc brakes why would I need to replace a brake master cylinder and what's the reason and when exactly would I need to install a proportioning valve ? I am thinking it will matter if I am trying to gain ABS with this swap, but I am staying non-abs. Would the brake master cylinders be different and that's the reason I would need to swap it ?
Help !
