    E30 not starting need some help.

    So after the head swap the e30 isnt starting. I know the fuel pump afm and ecu are ok. What could cause the car not to start tps, cps, spark? MY questions are as follows

    1. If you take off the fuel line and crank the car you can see if the pump is working therfore giving the motor fuel. But how do you know and check if the injectors are firing?

    2. How do you check if the tps is working along with the crank position sensor.

    3. Anything that would cause the motor not to start either than spark tps or cps?

    Please help with w.e. information you can. Thanks.

    First thing is to check for spark since you know the fp is working.

      Fuel pressure is working i wanna know though how do you if if the injectors are firing?

        Check to make sure those connectors for the crank trigger sensor and the inductive pickup on the wires aren't mixed up.

          Get someone to turn the motor over a few times and put your hand over the exhaust. If it smells like fuel your injectors are firing.

              Yes.

              You can hold your hand on an injector to feel it click while cranking. Or, crank for a bit and the pull out a spark plug and smell if it's wet with gas.

                  Ok i tryed it and the car started for like 10 seconds. Idle a bit ruffly and then turned off. That was it it never wanted to turn back on. There is fuel and spark any ideas?

                      car starts runs fine. I never took the tb off so i doubt that was the problem.

                          easy pulled it out as one whole unit and swaped intake manifolds.

                            Disconnect the ECU for 5-10 mins and hook it back up. I had this problem recently.

                            Have you tried spraying a little starter fluid into the PCV hose while someone is cranking it? That's come in handy once for me.

                              He's talking about the Timing Belt not the throttle body .
