    Engine knocks and consumption up...

Lately after hard driving I noticed knocks (petrol pre detonation)
and around 2,5-3k rpm when the car is warm...
Also my petrol consumption went up in the last 15 days by some 25%.
What could cause this and what can I do about it?
Maybe my injectors need professional cleaning?
I ve run out of fuel 2 times in the past 3,5 years.
I know,I m stupid but my fuel gauge is misbehaving when under 20lt.

Knocks from a motor are a bad thing. It might be ready to blow. If it's not the rods or bearings, it's possible something is wrong with your cooling system (head is too hot causing predetonation). The computer should retard the timing before you hear a knock. It's possible some sensor isn't working properly which would explain your poor mileage and possible predetonation. I'd get a good quality injector cleaner and/or intake valve cleaner and try as well. You may have to use the cleaners a few times. If this helps, you may want to get a pro to clean the injectors. Good luck.

I know man,I know...and I ve never had it before.
Maybe the timing at 32 degrees is a lot after all, huh? 30 is default...

Some of the pipes coming from the radiator are a bit soft and I think its about time I changed them.I mean it s a must considering that the engine reaches the optimum temperature somehow fast (when totally cold) lately...
