    666 plate, steering rack snag

I jacked up my car the other days and tried to install my new 666 fab skid plate.

I got stuck on this first step, remove the steering rack bolts.

They were real sticky. I prepped them with PB blaster and then took a breaker bar to the right one. It was odd, I could turn it but it never really came loose, it still had a ton of resistance. This went on for a few turns with the bar then I finally "broke" the bolt loose, and it would turn freely, but it would not come out no matter how much I turned it. It stayed where it was

The left one had the same symptoms, but I never got the point of breaking it loose.

What is happening? How do I get these damn bolts out?

There is a nut on top of them. You have to hold the nuts while you turn the bolt.

      Yep.

After you spot it you'll feel dumb. I did. They are sort of hidden.

Are you going to use the supplied self tapping screws?

Bolts, washers, and self locking nuts are now supplied. I believe he has that setup.

Yea, I got it. The only thing that is different w/ the bolts instead of the screws is you have to remove the large plastic front engine undercarriage cover in order to get to tighten the front skidplate nuts. I just installed the skidplate and then fit the undercarriage cover over it. I'll have pics tomorrow after I go rallycrossing.

Here's a picture of the skidplate installed w/ nuts&bolts and the plastic undercarriage cover over it.
