    o2 wire colors??

I bought an AEM wideband O2 to replace my stock one and I was wondering if anyone knew what the 4 wires on the stock o2 sensor are. There is a black, grey and two whites.

    The AEM wire colors are:
red <power> ..."connect to a 10-18 volt power source utilizing a 10A fuse"
black <ground> ..."connect to a clean ground"
white <analog output> ... "connects to any auxiliary unit that accepts a 0-5 volt input"
    blue <serial output> ... "connects to a RS-232 com port for hyper-terminal data logging"

I would think that substiuting a wideband for the OE sensor would not be a good idea. As far as I know the data from the wide bad is not what the DME will be expecting and the DME won't properly trim the mixture. I'd say to have another bung welded in for your wideband sensor.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

you need a wideband controller to convert the signal

the AEM has a built in one...it sends a narrowband signal to the ecu

and I would weld in another bung but there are two probs w/ that:

one I need the car finished by 7 in the morning and I don't have a welder at the house

and two, the factory o2 crapped so I kinda need to wire the wideband in :|

I found out that the whites are the heater wires and I assume that the black would be ground

does anyone know the pin on the 1.7 dme that is for the o2 signal?

hmmm....I decided to put the crappy O2 sensor back on and put the AEM on when I finish the MS harness and get that on next weekend. Its weird though because the only thing I did to my car was take off the exhaust and front sway and now the abs light came on

plus the car sounds like a wrx now, I think I didn't tighten the exhaust down good enough :weak:
