No not the same just a slightly different version. I use one of these in my 89. As I understand it it's compatible with the 173 chips. But Don't quote me on that.

IIRC I am about 95% positive that the 380 was the factory replacement/superceed for the 173 ECU. chips should be interchangeable.Comment
