OHHH yea!!! I got zero mile on the clock!!!

I've always kinda wanted to do this since I remember Jordan running a small DC hobby motor on his odometer for weeks to get it to roll over. Only problem with that is you now have an odo with 1 MILLION miles on the gears...That's no good. I did very delicate surgery on my (also involved de-soldering some parts), not easy to do at all.

I think I'm going to put this one in my car someday when I've got it pimped to where I want it. Other wise I'll road test it and put a few miles on it and put it up for sale if there is interest. I guess I could set it to the miles that are on my motor as well.

I SO wish I had this when I did my motor swap. I'm going to do a couple for a friend that just had his car painted, ect...Either way, I think it's darn cool.

Hell, send it to me - I'll do it (for a few bones)

It took about 2 hours - not for the faint of heart I tell ya. And don't go in there with a screw driver and think you can crank on the dials to get them to just rotate. You can't, you'll destroy them. You have to diasemble it part by part, de-soldering some of the componets to gain access, till the dials are free to move, then the really hard part is putting it back together with out the wheels moving or you end up with 919019 or something like that.

            ...or ban!

on my spare odometer (broken gears) i played with it, i thought of a little drill to turn it for a while, before i put in new gears..

What would it cost to get you to send me one, set to 0 miles?

find yourself an OE window sticker and throw your car up on ebay as "BONE STOCK 0 MILES!!!"

Someone will fall for it.... haha

you know that you can just spin the gears the other way and it will go backwards. would be less time if you dont have that many miles on the odometer
                NEED SOME VINYL STICKERS???

Hmmm, on this motometer, you can't just spin the gears "backwards". Maybe that applies to other cluster or makes of cars.

You can fill out a simple form at teh DMV stating that the milage is inaccurate. What do you think all the guys do that buy a used cluster or a M3 cluster do?

Crack open the odometer and roll it to the correct mileage?

                        Thats what I did.

                          huh

I thought it was fairly easy, i reset it to just 100k though, didnt want to be to crazy. but yea, mine wasn't to delicate i guess, but it worked, lubed up the gears and bam its ready to roll. Defiantly good to do for you guys with motor swap plans.
