I have an 86 eta w/200k + miles.
This problem arrised somewhat out of nowhere, at first it was intermittent, now its pretty much full-time. There wasn't any symptoms of this problem arrising. Moments before, I drove the car up to 80MPH on the highway & it was perfectly fine.
What happens is that under a load (in 1st gear) when I get off the line, at around 1800 RPMs, my car cuts power down to just 200 RPMs, then goes back up to 1800 RPMs, & repeat.
When I give the car gas (when driving), it has a delay. When the car is parked, there is a delay, as well as it sputtering at times. When the car is still, it revs perfectly fine sometimes.
I took the car to the shop, the shop really can't determine what is wrong with the car. They said that they did a pressure test on the fuel lines & its fine. Teaguer & I swapped out a few air flow meters, one of them worked for a little bit, but then it crapped out like my original one.
Any ideas???? At this point, any help would be highly appreciated. My mechanic is getting close to stumped at this point too. :crazy:
