    Found another horn on car...

While putting on my new lower lip 'is' spoiler I noticed another horn mounted to the underside, directly below the ABS unit. It is flat and is protected by a sheetmetal screen. Any idea what it's for? And more importantly can I get rid of it...

There is a horn on each side of the car. Each one is a different frequency.

This isn't one of the regular horns. It is a flat metal one, looks like one that motorcycles have. The regular horns are there, they are Fiamm trumpet style...

The 3rd horn you're talking about, on the driver's side, is for the OBC alarm...when you set a 'code' on the OBC and an attempt is made to start the car, it's supposed to go off on the 3rd try, or thereabouts...

ding ding ding! Nick got it.

What a POS that was - I thought I was getting assulted by a moped when that went off! Mine on the 325e fell off and I ran it over. :( Oh well.
I have not checked to see what the 325is has for one, but it has the multi function OBC.

OK thanks. Since I removed the OBC anyway and replaced it with an oil pressure guage the flat horn gets axed. One more piece for the scrap pile. Pretty soon it might actually be easy to get to things with all the extraneous parts I've been removing...next to go: cruise control stalk on steering column and rear seat cushion (roll bar install)
