    eta LIFE span?

    I have an 84 325 E. The motor has 156k. I have the car chipped and no cat with an open muffler. I have a 373 lsd in the back. I keep the revs under 4750 because on the dyno it made no power over that so why rev it higher. Here is the deal I AUTO X this car 2 times a month and flat run the piss out of it. What kind of like should I expect to get from the motor, transmission and rear end if I take all the proper care and use good fluids?. There is NO valve noise and the car does not blow smoke!

    Also. What else do you all reccomend to get a little more power from this motor? I have been reading but I wanted to ask for myself. I am all ears! let me have it!

    That mileage is low. I have 270+k on my eta with a chip and 3.73 like you. I beat on it too and the motor will last for a while if you take care of it. I don't see why your set-up won't last for another 100k miles with the proper care.

    I don't think that there is too much more to do to the eta engine to make more power. You could put in a cam and do some head work, but that seems like the only options you have. The head is restrictive on the e. With all that money tho, you could easily go m20b25 or an m50.

      I had 288k on mine it was completely stock. I sold the car for $1400 to a pothead who i believe was high at the time of the transaction :)

      It could have gone for another 100k if i wanted to keep it

            Hows the eta with the 3.73? I always thought it would be too much gear for the low revs. What rpm are you guys at at 60 and 80mph.

              I rebuilt mine at 270k, from the looks of the insides, it had another 50k left before it got real bad.

                When i changed my head gasket at around 159k the block and head looked really good. But since i put the 3.73's in mine the motor has been getting tired ( i do alot of interstate driving).

                  I have 99 miles to 180k on mine. Runs perfect. I say it has another 100k+ left in it.

                    spoke with a guy i know in atl late last year, he has over 750k on an eta head never been pulled. says its a ticking bomb but we're talking almost a million miles

                      750K miles with no power Nah, the eta is not too bad. Better than the m42.

                        i ran my eta until it broke the timing belt, it was probably at 250k, i didnt care, i just put in an I engine
