external fuel pump in 89?

does anyone know if there was an external fuel pump in 89 cars? i dont think there was but im not 100% on this. my friend needs a reply asap so any input you guys could give would be great. TIA!

No. The pump for an 89 is in the tank, on the driver's side I believe.
