I need to know asap. I posted this in my thread in gen. discussion, but I figured it would get more attention here, and, hence, have a faster response.

So, does it? I need to know! :?

    Thanks!

Kris reminded me that I could use the ETK to figure this out, unfortunately, they will not fit.

Super eta requires twin-mass flywheel and the 325is does not.

The only parts that are exactly the same (used on both) are the following:

    clutch release fork lever
    clutch release bearing
    ball pin
    spring clip
    screwfillister head

Basically, all the cheap stuff. Oh well.

I was thinkin I'd try makin it fit, but it probably wouldn't, so oh well. ;)

In the dual mass setup, the springs are in the flywheel with a solid clutch disc.

In the single mass setup, the springs are in the clutch.

I would not recommend putting a single mass into an '88. I still have no idea what went wrong, but Eric (e9nine) went through three pressure plates before we put the dual masser back in.

        Yeah, I don't think I'll bother then.

        Thanks, Bill.

I hate finding shit like this AFTER I buy parts.

I have an 88 SETA engine I'm putting in the vert, and have the 87 325i tranny I need to install on it. I bought the clutch and pressure plate for an 87 325i, so I was going to swap the 325i's flywheel onto the SETA.

          You're saying this is bad???

It's not bad but I blew up three pressure plates when I went to a single mass flywheel set up on my 2.7iS a few years ago. Perhaps it was a one off thing but blowing 3 pressure plates got too annoying

Once you have all the components needed, set it up and enjoy the free revving 2.7i in comparison to the dual mass set up.
