Lowering springs with stock rear shocks

I need to go ahead and replace my suspension to pass inspection, however I don't have my rear shocks yet. Could I install IE3 springs w/ bilstien sport fronts and stock rear shocks temporarly? I'm afraid of ruining my rear springs if they are not properly dampened.

You won't hurt the springs using the old shocks, but the rear of the car may be a bit bouncy.

Do it, I know a certain someone running GCs and stock rear shocks for almost 2 years now.

It rear actually aint that bouncey either, could be the stiff spring rates thou.

You can physicall install it, yes. The shocks will get blown out in no time though.

I have 376,900km factory rear dampers.

The rest of the setup is Koni/Ground Control. Been on for around 120,000km (fresh Konis since).

I win autocrosses. Not saying it's ideal, but I'll be damned if the results are lying.

eibach pro kit + stock struts = :(

It was fine for autox and flat tracks, but elevation changes or bumps? forget about it. You may as well initiate the drift yourself so it doesn't surprise you.

You can do it, but get some new struts in there asap! Don't forget all your fun bushings, they make a world of difference too.

A person that I know has stock shocks and the eibach kit...he bottomed out so bad on the freeway to destroy his oil pan. I have driven the same stretch of freeway countless times with no problems...

Small point though. Eibachs bottom out with any damper. :p
