    e30 4 to 6 cylander swap

    Hey guys as you know i am swaping everything from my 87 325is to my 318i. I did the sespansion brakes and all that, now i got the engine all ready in the car and every thing connected but im having a problem with the engine wires. I got all the ecu wires done, what i need to know is the main engine wires that are atached to the fire wall cover. the round loking conects. i dont get how to connect that to my 318i engine sochet. PLease help guys i really need this car to drive my end of the week and i got everything done exapt for the F**ing engine wires. PLease feel free to let me anything u mit know. I really apressiate this. thanks guys and jordan for having a great site!

    I think you are talking about the C101 connector. Off the fuse box.

    You will have to rewire it, as obviously the connectors wont fit in each other, and the pins dont line up.

    There is documentation on this somewhere, but i dont recall where. Hopefully someone will post it.

              mostly color by color
              that's what i've done
              i've changed the 19 pin rectangular connector to 20 pin round connector

                But my 318i socket has like 9 wires and the new 20 wire socket got 11 or 12.

                    find out wich pins you miss in the connector from the fusebox (i think some wiring for the Check Control ) correct me if i'm wrong guys

                      ok BavarianBimmer the c101 connecter had 13 wires and my stock connect on the 318i has 8 wires. 7 of the 8 wires connect and the other one i dont know that it does( its a green and brown wire)
                      ALso i still have 6 wires remaining on the c101 connecter that isnt connect tehy are: voilet&red, brown&black, brown&blue, white&black, blue&yellow, brown. those are the wires that are left that arent connected. Help me guys im stock here with this F***ing wires. thanks

                        Green/brown-goes to Black/brown on the c101 conector
                        I've made a plug to go from the 318i Engine wiring harness side to the 325i engine harness side so it would plug right in between and 89 325i engine and an 84 318i chassis, not all the wires match color to color. I matched them by ther function, I helped my friend do this swap and he first wired color to color and fried the large Red/white wire suppling power to the injectors and had to cut open the engine harness and replace it. If you search I believe I posted the schematics but if not I'll send them to you.

                            Hey rs4pro3 my wires have diff colors then yours. maybe you can help me by me listing what colors i going from the fuse box on my 318i to my 325i motor connecter.
                            318i wires colors: blue, green,blackyellow,brownviolet,greenyellow,greenvio let, blue white, browngreen. thats what i got on the 318i connector. Heres the 325i enigine connector colors:blackbrown, brownviolet,blueyellow,whiteblack,blue,green,black yellow,brownviolet,greenviolet,blackbrown, bluewhite,violetred,greenviolet. please match those up for me because your do diagram is differnet and i dont have some colors that you have. thanks denis
                            By the way my 318i is a 84.

                              I'll do my best to see what I can do, those colors are from the engine side of a 318i to a chassis side of a 325i. so that I could plug it into a 318i chassis then plug the 325i engine plug into the little harness I made, I'll look this afternoon at a chassis harness and let you know.
