My SI board on the gauge cluster

This is for my 87 325is
Do I have to replace the whole cluster or can I just replace the SI board?
Can I use any other e30 clusters besides the 325is can I use the e cluster?

Yes you can just replace the SI board. If you install an E cluster you'll have a 5k rpm tach. There are MANY different various of clusters out there, depending on the year and model.

I've tested motormeter and vdo (new and old) clusters in my car and they do work, but keep in mind some speedos/odo have 4 pins and some 5 pins , some clusters have coding plugs on the front and some don't. My cluster is old vdo, so I completely bypassed the SI board altogether. My speedo/tach/fuel and temp gauges work just fine w/o it.

I replaced my board about two years ago. I'll post the name of the vendor when I get home (can't access that email from work).

Process was easy once I got the correct socket to pull the steering wheel.
