Car wont start! Please help!

I have a 1987 325e automatic. It was supposed to be a parts car but I decided to sell it because I no longer had the time or space to part it. I found a buyer who was going to have me replace the center support bearing and guibo for him prior to pickup. I drove it from storage to my house and the gas tank was empty (the empty light was on). It ran fine at that time. I replaced the 2 drive shaft parts as well as the transmission mounts and tried to start it. It hasn't been driveable since.

So here is what I have found. First off, the 3 main relays were bad. They are replaced with functional ones now. The fuel pump may have been bad, but the new one in there is good. I can get it to start but it revs up to 3k then drops and dies. If I try to give it gas when it starts, it dies instantly. I pulled the line right before the fuel rail and it pumped just fine. When I turn the ignition to the on position without trying to crank it over, the fuel pump does not go on. When I try to start it, if it starts, when it dies, I can hear the fuel pump for a second and then it shuts off.

I believe this is all the info I have. Has anyone experienced this before? I need to get this car running so the buyer can take it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is your AFM plugged in?

Yes. I will try swapping it out with another one tomorrow though. Hope it does the trick.

My swap is doing the same thing. It deffinetly sounds like your AFM is acting up. Try unplugging it and then starting it. It should atleast run. It will idle rough but will stay running if this is your problem.
