    Tach needle sticking

Over the past couple weeks the needle on the tach has started to stick. It has gotten progressivly worse and now almost always jumps up and down and often gets stuck in a position. What is the fix for this?

sounds like the gears are getting stuck.. Easiest fix is try and find another cluster and swap em out.

That would be my suggestion, then you can try and take ur old current cluster apart and clean up the gears, grease em, etc... and sell it.

      Bumping an olddddddd thread.
My new 325 cab has this issue. Needle sticks or doesn't react, hit the dash and it moves to a new spot and moves a bit then sticks again. When stopping it will come to rest above 1200 rpm until i hit the dash, then it drops to what i would consider normal idle and stick again or climb in surges as i accelerate.

Ideas? Si battery issue maybe? Everything else in the cluster works fine.

There ar no gears in the tach. A sticking tach would just about have to be a problem inside that instrument.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

So your thinking bad tach, not a si battery or board issue? Maybe coding plug issue? Think it could be a ground issue on the cluster?
