i have the same prob. i adjusted the ICV and now it runs fine. oh and i still have fixed the fuel pump buzz. i just replaced the fuel filter and it still buzzes, i might just replace the pump (kinda pricey). if that makes it stop buzzing ill let you know.

so the buzzing could very well be one of the pumps?

Well you can definitely get pretty damn high if you wanted to. It stunk my whole house up for about 4 hours.
That being said, that is fucking rediculous. Just buy it at some autoparts store.

I've always thought that a certain amount of fuel pump buzzing was normal.

Oh.. and my friends 88 528e auto has the same weird idle problem. My dad services it.. so I'll tell him about the ICV adjustment. Good to know.

Just gonna have my dad get it for me. As for the fuel delivery, I did some listening, and I have come to the conclusion that its the fuel filter that is buzzing.

Also, my dad seems to oppose me a lot on the fuel delivery buzz.. He says that there is no way the the fuel filter can buzz..

                What do you guys think?

All of my bimmers have done it. It's the buzzing you can hear really well from the drivers seat when the passenger door is open, correct? That's fuel filter noise, or at least it was on my 325 and 740. My 318 does it a little bit.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

It buzzes. Just spend the $13 and replace the filter and the $1 for the carb cleaner and clean out the ICV.

He keeps saying there is nothing inside the filter that can buzz!!

He keep saying its the fuel pump that buzzes.

Any way to convince him?

Spend the $13 to replace it and then bask in the silence.

i think its the pump. my buzzing noise comes from the pump, and i just replaced the filter about 3 thousand miles ago so i dont think its the filter. but then again my cars a 318, not a 325 so i may be wrong.

Fuel pump is buzzing since its overworking itself because of a clogged filter. At least for me it was.

Or how about the filter is buzzing from the high pressure waves moving all the small particles in the filter?
