my 318 needs help!

My poor 318 is having a hard time these days..

Oh.. over a month ago, it started misfiring every once in a while, quite randomly.
I assumed.. bad fuel. Changed fuel filter, put cleaner in.. things seemed cool for a while.
Then it went back to misfiring.. when accelerating, once in a blue moon. I wasn't really worried about it.

However.. recently, the problem has gotten much worse. It misfires pretty consistently.
Never at idle, and it's much worse starting out, before the car warms up.
When I say it misfires, I mean it REALLY misfires. The tach goes crazy.. the car jumps around.. it's not cool.

Today.. I checked plug wires and pulled the plugs, everything there looks cool.
Any ideas? Advice would be verrrry appreciated!

When's the last time you did a general tuneup? Dizzy cap/rotor, wires, plugs, etc. Ever check your timing?

Yes. All of that (with the exception of wires) has been done in the last 6 months or so. Some girls really do take care of their cars. :D

Have you checked the injectors, about all I can think of at the moment.

When i had my 318 I did a burnout and literally poped a hole in the distributor cap. The car wouldnt even run. I had to do some makesheift fix to get it home. It was bad. Id look inside there and really expect that all 4 prongs are getting struck right. Also try putting the head of the screwdriver on eachinjector and your ear to the other end, make sure its tapping.Correct me if im wrong, but that is the right way to check injectors right?
