    Question on locks/keys

My car when I bought it came with 2 keys, one to unlock the doors and the trunk and one to start the car. So, that leads me to believe the ignition lock must have been changed at one point.

My question is this. Am I stuck with having two different keys or can I purchase a new ignition tumbler and have a key match the other key for the doors or do I have to purchase the tumbler and door/trunk locks all at once ?

    Thanks.

You can purchase a new ignition by VIN that will come matched to the car's original keys.

Thank you, also confirmed by the local dealer. They did mention that it's a guessing game still even with a new tumbler , key might not work with the doors/trunk because the trunk/door locks are worn out.

I forgot to ask if I can then order a door lock or trunk lock as needed to match the original key also if needed...

You can order any lock and any key by VIN. I doubt you'll have problems though; sounds like they are trying to cover their asses more than anything.
