How do I pull codes on an m20

    E36 I know how...

Can I hook a peake up to the diag plug?

    Let me know guys.

    Thanks!

Ya, a peake will work with an 89. Same way as your e36. I have the FCXII and that goes down to 87+.

        You already have the tool.
The Peake tool you use for your e36 should also work on your e30. I use my Peake tool just fine to check the codes on my cars. When Dan Peake gave me my tool, he said it would work for any BMW with an OBDI connection. The cars that only have an OBDII connection require the use of a different tool.

Turn the key to the "on position" and press the gas pedal 5 times, making sure to go ALL the way to the floor! After the 5th time, release, and look for the check light to flash out a code... Worked for me, let me know if you have any probs.:-)
