    Cracked oil pan

Being the idiot I am, i ran into a curb today knocking a hole in my oil pan(front corner) I just didn't give myself enough space to clear it. My question is how should I go about this? Should I try and repair it? Just buy a brand new one? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How much for the part? Estimate on shipping? Quality of the pan?

Replace it -- I assume we're talking lower pan only. Easy as pie.

And be glad you didn't do this to an M20! Replacement of an M20 pan is hard, dirty, and dangerous too if you don't have a lift, or should I say hoist.

Word . M42 lower pan is cake .
Just make sure you use a new gasket ....don't use that RTV crap .

If it is just a crack you can save yourself some $$ and just remove the lower pan for a thorough degreasing and then apply JB to the offending area .

I've seen where the upper pan can sometimes crack where the lower pan bolts to, I'd double check it before you get under there.
