    Gutter Removal

I've been disassembling my car, getting it ready for paint. I want to remove the rain gutters along the edges of the roof. I understand that removing them will ruin them. Fine, I dont have a problem with that. How the hell do you get them off the car? I did a search once and found where some guy had written some crap like "start from the front and gently work your way back." Sorry but that sounds like instructions for scraping scales off a fish.

C'mon, who has done this? Hook a brutha up!

    Thanks,

removing them WILL NOT ruin them...slide the clips back by the c-pillar, and start at the bottom of the a pillar and pry up, then twist it torwards the roof(like a door or something) and it will come right off, no scratches, no bend, no swearwords

From what I've read some 911 guys actuall get rid of the rails and everything (assume grinding is envolved) - thay say it cleans up the roof line alot...

        but hey, that's 911 guys...

If you remove the gutter how could you ever strap on the Thule's and carry the bikes, kayaks, skis, boats, etc??? Even parts from Home Depot??

Keep the gutters. The motion is like a rolling upward, twist. Be careful of the bends where it goes from the windshield to the roof transition. I could never get mine to sit flat again after I removed it and reinstalled. It's easy just take your time. If you start cursing it you are doing it wrong...

The drip rails are actually part of the body seam, and they need to be welded back together, but it enhances aero, and makes it look better

Tried this just as practice on mine... As they all said, just be SLOW and kind of quark it... AND DONE LOSE THE LITTLE PIECES THAT GO FROM THE C PILLAR CHROME TO THE REST!

Another question... My chrome is trim on my 4 door eta... Is there anywhere I can buy it in black?
