glove box lock broke in locked setting

Is there a way to get the glove box open if the lock is stuck in lock mode. Is it safe to cut the lock out to replace with a new lock? Or is this going to take removal of the dash board to get to it?

    TIA

Undo the bolts which hinge the glovebox and try and get access to the tabs on the catch?
Only a guess as ive never tried!

Eko is right. That's how I did mine. If this doesn't work for you, remove the screws from the piano style hindge on the bottom. This will give you a lot of wiggle room. This is a common problem. Latches are cheap.- Steve
