How old is the O2 sensor?
    any vacuum leaks at all?
    MAF clean?
Coolant Temp Sensor for DME good?
Do you have some numbers you could post?
HC, NOX, etc, for idle and at speed?

All I can think of at the moment.

Have you given the ECU time to re-adapt after losing power?

the thing is if i dont warm it up for a good 2 to 3 mins it will stall because it idles at a 500 rpms and usually stalls so we took the idle switch off and it just idles at about 1500-2000 and we havent checked the o2 sensor.

After you replace the batter the power is cut to the Motronic unit and it resets. It takes time to relearn the car. With the throttle switch removed it will run retarded timing and not correctly adjust fuel mixture for idle/ driving. Get that fixed and get back to us.
