Taking off the circlip off the glovebox lock

My glove box lock broke and I just purchased another one. I took out the lock off my old glove box, but ended up having to messed up the circlip. Does anyone know how I can take the circlip off the glove box handle to take the lock out without damaging the clip.

Use circlip pliers?

Use a pair of screwdrivers. It's a little tricky, but not too bad.
