    325es Oil Cooler Upgrade?

I have an 86 325 es, and was wondering what else was needed besides the oil cooler and lines from a late model e30 325. Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing. I believe there is actually a hole in the side of the block. I dont believe any pumps or anything are involved.

I am not sure what is present on earlier blocks, perhaps a freezeblog that you can have removed and than thread it... Not sure.

Aa a bonus filling the tank will also double any Eta's resale value .

You need an oil filter housing from a car that has an oil cooler. There is not a hole in the block, it is in the filter housing.

It all bolts right up, no modification needed.

Not to kill your sale if you are in fact selling one, Matt, but an oil cooler is totally unecessary on an eta. That's why they didn't come with them. In fact, you can run a M20B25 without it, too.

What are you going by that says it's "unnecessary"? How is oil cooler not necessary on any and all motors? Add some backing to your claims.

They didn't put the oil cooler on for looks.....

If the car sees autocrosses or track days, it's a good idea to have one.
You don't "need" a roll bar for track days either but you know what, it's a damned good idea. As is the oil cooler.
