    removing glovebox lock

So i took off the circlip and took out my lock. Instantly the 7 little metal prongs fell out. The metal pieces have numbers on them. 3 of the pieces say 4, 2 of them say 3 and there is a 1 and a 2. Now I have no idea in which order to put them back in. Is there a certain way they should be put in, or is it just guess and check? I just spent an hour trying to do it and it just gave a huge headache. When I put the key in I got 6 out of 7 of the metal pieces to flush with it, but couldn't get get the 7th one. Please tell me there is an easier method or should I just give up now.

Give up now. You're supposed to leave the key in the lock when you take the lock out.

you do realize that there is a non-lock handle that you can replace yours with. get it from the dealer.
